Questions from Curious Minds

During workshops, exhibitions, and conversations, students often ask thoughtful questions—about satellites, engineering choices, and the nature of scientific work.

Some of these questions stay longer than expected, not because they are difficult, but because they invite deeper thinking.

  • How does a satellite continue to work reliably for years without repair?

  • Why do satellite images sometimes look different even when taken of the same place?

  • What matters more in engineering—knowledge or judgement?

  • How do engineers deal with uncertainty when designing complex systems?

Students and educators are welcome to share a thoughtful question. Not every question will receive a response, and responses—when they come—may take time.

Good questions deserve time and reflection.
