The Person Behind Vivruti
Vivruti is shaped by the professional life and personal interests of Satish Rao, an ISRO space systems engineer who spent over two decades working within the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
During this time, his work focused on understanding space systems as integrated wholes—where sensors, electronics, data handling, and ground systems must work together reliably under real constraints.
From Experience to Exploration
In the later part of his ISRO career, Satish Rao was deeply involved in space outreach and public engagement, interacting directly with students, teachers, and the general public through exhibitions and discussions.
These interactions revealed a recurring gap: while curiosity about space is extensive, opportunities to understand how space systems actually function are rare.
This gap between curiosity and understanding is what Vivruti seeks to fill.
How This Shapes Vivruti
Vivruti reflects a way of thinking shaped by real mission work—where space technology is approached as a system, design involves trade-offs, and understanding comes from interaction rather than instruction.
A Personal Note
Vivruti is not an academic extension or a formal programme. It exists to share the quiet satisfaction that comes from working with real systems.
If curiosity deepens into further exploration, that is welcome—but the intent is simply to let curiosity meet reality.
